Tahoe Nugget #5: Elko in Tahoe Elko was an outstanding border collie. Yes, he bit a few of my friends. I'm sorry for that. They didn't deserve it, but in some way they contributed to the crime. Elko had abuse issues from prior experience and he was the smartest dog I've ever met. I wasn't there when he died, but I honor him for his loyalty, intellect, and stoicism. He was a dog, but he was my son for many years.
